Another Step in Our Evolution

On this early Sunday morning, we launched a whole new website. We launched our original site in 2016 when Middlerock first formalized. It was time. For one, Squarespace changed to a different format and at some point we would need to migrate to the new version anyway. But more importantly, our practice shifted with technology. We couldn’t have imagined what’s happened in just the last few years. I didn’t know Quora existed and now it’s an important additional conduit for our practice. So is Zoom. We can now manage more clients remotely than ever before, while still remaining highly efficient.

Quora has put us in touch with people looking for answers from all over the globe and we are more than happy to share what we know. It’s sharing what we love. I don’t think I ever get up anymore and not want to write an answer to something on Quora. Our bi-monthly Zoom calls are a lot of fun and give us a chance to interact with people from just about every time zone on the planet. We’ve also started to record podcasts that we will be releasing in the upcoming weeks. Each podcast is about twenty minutes long and covers just a few topics that come up often on our calls or on Quora. They are intended to get people caught up who can’t make the calls.

The Quora stats alone have been humbling. As of this writing, our “Tom on Entrepreneurship” page which is only seven month old has over 63,000 followers and is growing by about 800 followers a day! I couldn’t have imagined this. It took us over five months to get to fifteen thousand and we celebrated that like it was a big deal. Yet now, it’s growing even faster. I have a lot of people to thank for that. The foundation to that page began by taking the time to write over 900 answers. It took two years and seven months to get here. If every page is the standard 500 words, that’s 450,000 words! The average adult novel is 90,000 words, that five volumes of answers. We’ve been added to the Quora Digest (top answers) 291 times in 12,777,000 emails since we began! This was the foundation that gave “Tom on Entrepreneurship” momentum.

It wasn’t always easy. At times, I felt like I wasn’t making progress, and so I asked others who had much larger followings what I should do. Their answer was just keep writing. Don’t stop writing. So, with that, we won’t stop writing or helping our clients build better companies. We know some of you need help and we hope you’ll give us a call. Thanks for reading and participating in our journey.
